Everyone is doing that now. Amazon publishes an MCP server. You can point Claude at your advertising account this afternoon and it will pull your reports and change your bids.
But there’s a category of question about your Amazon account where nobody ever gives you a straight answer.
If I turned my ads off tomorrow, would my sales survive?
Did the changes I made last month actually work?
Which of my automation rules cost me money?
That’s what we’re trying to build: straight answers to questions like these.
It’s not that people haven’t tried. Your ad spend sits in one place, your sales in another, and your own campaign structure lives nowhere near either. Nobody keeps a record of what you changed last month, or what happened after. Somebody has to join all that, in a particular order, and then decide what counts as a finding and what’s just noise. That’s the hard part.
We wrote code to do the joining and the math, then let Claude interpret the findings.
Take the first question:
If I turned my ads off tomorrow, would my sales survive?
Here’s what came back on a real account (used with permission), with the ASINs and numbers masked:
That card came out of our MCP server, now in open beta. It’s a set of skills that live inside Claude. You connect your account once, then just ask. And the card isn’t the end of it. Ask a follow-up and it digs deeper, and when a verdict calls for a change, it drafts the change for you to preview before anything touches your account. The other two questions are just as interesting, and I’ll come back to those in another post soon.
Some of what you try will disappoint you. There are questions it can’t reach yet, and sometimes it will get you most of the way and then tell you to go check something yourself. I’d rather it did that than made something up.
So ask it the thing you’ve been wondering about, the one you’ve asked your VA three times and still don’t have a straight answer to. The number you check every Monday and have never fully trusted.
Then tell me what it couldn’t answer. That’s the part I care about most. The list of hard questions isn’t ours to write. Every week I’ve spent watching someone use this, I’ve learned something I wouldn’t have guessed sitting on our side of it. Some of what you send we’ll be able to build. Some we won’t, and I’ll tell you honestly which is which. But I want the list, and the only way to get it is to put this in front of more people than I can sit with one at a time.
Write to me at daniel+mcp@scaleinsights.com with the subject “Hard MCP Questions” so I know to pick it up. I will read every one.
P.S. Haven’t connected yet? Setup instructions are at portal.scaleinsights.com/Settings/McpConnect. Connect your account, install the skills, then start with si-help.
