AI Scaling Live: The Conversations We Wanted to Have

Written by Leslie Chong | Aug 7, 2026, 3:50:43 AM

AI Scaling Live started with a date on someone else’s calendar.

A lot of very experienced ecommerce operators from around the world were going to be in Singapore at the same time.

And I remember thinking: when are we going to have this many experienced ecommerce operators in Singapore again?

Probably not anytime soon.

I thought there was an opportunity to bring some of them into the same room.

The question was what that room should actually be about.

AI felt like the obvious conversation.

Not because people needed another event telling them AI is important. Most serious ecommerce operators already know that.

What I wanted to hear was much more practical:

What are you actually doing with AI inside your business, and what is genuinely working?

The conversations I find most useful rarely happen on stage

If you hav
e been around ecommerce events long enough, you probably know the conversations I mean.

Someone mentions something they have been trying in their business.

Another operator says they tried something similar, but a particular part did not work.

Then someone opens their laptop and says, “Let me show you how we’re doing it.”

Suddenly, you are no longer talking about AI in theory.

Those conversations are usually far more useful to me than another presentation about how AI is going to transform ecommerce.

The problem is that they normally happen by chance.

In a hallway. Over lunch. At dinner. Between sessions.

With AI Scaling Live, we wanted to stop leaving those conversations to chance.

So we approached the speakers differently

The easiest way to build an event would have been to start with recognizable speakers and fill the program with polished presentations.

But that was not what I wanted for this room. We took the same approach with the stage.

During registration, we asked attendees a simple question:

What AI workflows are you already using inside your business?

We also asked whether they would be willing to share them.

The answers were much more interesting than I expected.

Some operators had already built sophisticated AI into very specific parts of their businesses. Not just using ChatGPT occasionally, but creating repeatable workflows for advertising, reporting, research, operations, SOPs, team execution, and other areas.

Some of the people who originally registered as attendees are now going to be sharing on stage.

They may not be professional speakers. But they are practitioners doing the work every day.

The room is the product

The talks matter.

That is why we have been quite intentional about who is in the room. We have experienced ecommerce operators, including 7 to 9 figure sellers,  Scale Insights users, MDS members, , and other serious founders all around the world.

The learning should not only happen from the stage.

Someone may have already solved a problem your team is facing.

Someone else may have tried the exact workflow you are considering and can tell you why it failed.

That exchange between operators is a big part of why I wanted to create the event in the first place.

For Scale Insights, this is a continuation of what we have always been doing

Scale Insights has been working on automation for ecommerce businesses since 2017, before AI agents became part of everyday business conversations.

We started with PPC automation, but the broader question has always been the same:

How can technology help ecommerce teams operate more efficiently and make better decisions?

AI expands what is possible.

But the principle has not changed.

A technology is only valuable if it makes the business operate better.

I do not want you to leave with fifty new tools

There are already enough lists of AI tools.

What I hope people leave AI Scaling Live with is much simpler.

Maybe it is three or four workflows worth adapting to their own business.

Maybe someone shows you a better way to work with advertising data, creative, reporting, research, or operations.

The more interesting question now is where it is actually worth implementing.

That is the conversation I wanted to be in. And that is really why we created AI Scaling Live.

If you are already trying to build AI into how your ecommerce business runs, come find people.
